Dear Prime Minister Lee,
It is with great pleasure that I have taken cognisance of the outcome of the general elections held on 11 September.
Please accept my heartfelt congratulations and those of my party, the MMM, on this milestone victory of your party, the PAP, under your very able stewardship. We have no doubt that your country will continue to impact positively on the development of your region and beyond.
We salute the close relationship that Singapore has maintained with Mauritius over the years and look forward to a consolidation of the ties that bind our two island nations.
I wish you all the very best at the helm of your party and country.
