PNQ SUR L’AFFAIRE BRAMER/BAI – VENDREDI 24 AVRIL 2015

Le ministre des Finances refuse de circuler le procès verbal

La PNQ du leader de l’opposition de ce vendredi 24 avril qui était adressée au ministre des Finances était une nouvelle fois axée sur l’affaire Bramer Bank/BAI. Paul Bérenger a demandé au ministre : 

« Whether, in regard to the Bramer Banking Corporation Ltd. and the BAI Co. (Mtius) Ltd., he will, for the benefit of the House, obtain information as to – (a) if the respective employees thereof have become employees of the National Commercial Bank and of the National Insurance Company, respectively, and if so, indicate if the respective years of service thereof are being reckoned; (b) the time at which the licence of the Bramer Banking Corporation Ltd. was revoked by the Board of the Bank of Mauritius and if the minutes of the Board of the Bank of Mauritius in relation thereto will be circulated; (c) the date when the Board of the Financial Services Commission decided to replace Ms C. A-H as the Chief Executive thereof; and (d) if the appointed conservators of the BAI Co. (Mtius) Ltd. were informed of the stand of Government concerning the policyholders thereof ?»

Dans sa réponse le ministre a déclaré que l’Etat ne peut pas garantir l’emploi des salariés de BA Insurance, mais que les employés de la Bramer Bank n’ont rien à craindre. Concernant des détails sur la réunion du conseil d’administration de la Banque de Maurice à l’issue de laquelle le permis d’opération de la Bramer Bank a été révoqué, il a indiqué que la décision a été prise vers les 22 heures, ou «un peu après ». Mais le procès verbal, ne sera pas circulé comme avait réclamé le leader de l’opposition, a-t-il ajouté.
